The CE marking is the manufacturer's assurance that a product fulfils EU health, safety and environmental requirements. The marking indicates that the product complies with the relevant legislation and is authorised for sale throughout the European Union.
For a product to be CE marked, the manufacturer or importer must guarantee that it fulfils the rules applicable to its specific product category. This includes requirements on safety, environmental impact and health protection. In some cases, for higher-risk products, the product must also be tested and verified by an independent third-party organisation before it receives its CE marking.

WEEE stands for 'Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment' and includes all electrical and electronic equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. These products contain a mixture of materials such as metal, glass, plastic, ceramics and sometimes precious metals. To avoid these materials causing environmental or health hazards, it is crucial that they are properly sorted and recycled.
To manage WEEE-labelled products correctly, they should not be disposed of with normal household waste. Instead, they should be taken to an electrical waste recycling centre - a service that is free of charge. You can easily find your nearest recycling centre on your municipality's website.

RoHS stands for "Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". In 2006, the EU banned the use of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), hexavalent chromium (Cr+VI) and two types of brominated flame retardants (pBB and pBDE) in new electrical and electronic products. We impose these legal requirements on our suppliers to ensure that they do not use the prohibited substances in their manufacturing or in the products they sell to us.
The EU Candidate List contains substances that have been shown to be dangerous for the environment, in particular due to their long degradation time. Although these substances are not yet completely banned, it is important to be aware of their presence in products.
At Övervakningsbutiken we take our sustainability responsibility seriously. We actively work to avoid products that contain substances from the Candidate List, even if they are still legal to use. In the unlikely event that any of our products contain such substances, we clearly inform you of this at the time of purchase.
We are members of El-Kretsen, an approved WEEE compliance scheme responsible for recycling electrical components. This scheme funds the free collection and recycling of electronics, helping to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainability.
