Video storage
Video storage is a common name for any device that can process and store video material. Basically, there are two variants, one for IP cameras (NVR) and one for analogue cameras (DVR). With recent developments towards more flexibility, pentabridges are now also available that can handle all the different technologies in one device (IP cameras, analogue, TVI/HD CCTV, CVI and 960H). These are an excellent option for those who already have analogue cameras and want to expand, for example, with new modern IP cameras (you can find them under Video Storage - DVR). The main purpose of a video storage device is to store material and they are therefore usually equipped with hard drives. Capacity varies depending on the model and, in addition, multiple units can be equipped with external storage via eSATA to further expand storage capacity. They also work well as a camera switcher or a way to get the cameras onto a screen. For analogue systems, they can also enable camera access via the internet and smartphone. Video storage devices are also built for high reliability and have several features that make them highly reliable.
